Fox PTA Art Auction at Hardywood March 18th, 6:30 – 10 PM, Tickets and Item Previews
A chance to drink some beer, get some art, and help out a local school.
William Fox Elementary School has been a beloved landmark of the Richmond Fan neighborhood for 111 years. The school building was tragically destroyed in a catastrophic fire that took with it supplies and resources that had been built up through the hard work of the Fox community over decades. This event will raise funds for the PTA that will enable us to provide support directly to our teachers and students as we navigate through this difficult transition and the years to come. The PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Thank you for supporting our efforts to continue our mission, even and especially during this challenging time.
Please join us for the Fox PTA art auction on March 18, 2022 from 6:30pm to 10:00pm at the Hardywood Park Craft Brewery located at 2410 Ownby Lane, Richmond, VA 23220. Art pieces to be auctioned through this event have been donated by a humbling variety of generous and talented individuals. We are delighted and honored to present this beautiful selection of artwork.
This is an adults only event. Ticket price includes (2) drink tickets and appetizers provided by Hardywood. The ticketed event will also include a live music performance and a Live Auction with an incredible selection of artwork. Bidding for these pieces will take place exclusively during the event, beginning at 8:00pm.
There will be additional beverages available for guest purchase along with woodfired pizza from the Hardywood pizza kitchen and various food truck options. Hardywood will be donating 10% of additional purchases (beverages and woodfired pizza) to the PTA.
A selection of artwork will be also be available for viewing and bidding as a Silent Auction event through this website. You do not need to purchase tickets or attend the event to participate in the Silent Auction only.

Richmond Oddities & Curiosities Expo at Convention Center August 13th
I went last year and came back with some treasures. I didn’t not come back with a taxidermy jackalope because I want to remain married.
The Oddities & Curiosities Expo showcases hand selected vendors, dealers, artists and small businesses with all things weird. You’ll find items such as: taxidermy, preserved specimens, original artwork, horror/halloween inspired pieces, antiques, handcrafted oddities, quack medical devices, creepy clothing, odd jewelry, skulls/bones, funeral collectibles & much more. We truly have something weird for everyone at our shows. All items you see at our shows are legal to own and sustainably sourced.
The O&C Expo provides a safe place for anyone to come and discover new artists, meet new friends and be surrounded by an amazing community of like-minded people. We pride ourselves in being a completely “DIY” ran show from start to finish. We find so much joy in being able to provide a place where you can feel at home surrounded by others that share the same interests.
We are the first and original traveling event exclusively showcasing oddities vendors and dark artists in the country. We are a one of a kind event and the first to do what we specialize in. We take tremendous pride in this and hope to gain your support along the way.

I’ve always dreamed of riding the dragon. It’s not going to happen this year but at least I can watch the dragons be rowed. It’s too late to register a team but there will be plenty to watch.
Image: Richmond Dragon Boat Facebook
Regarded as the liveliest festival stop on the MLDB circuit, Richmond is always a high-energy whirlwind of community rivalry mixed with team spirit. Embraced by local community teams, many festival attendees get creative with colorful uniforms, memorable costumes, and zany tent displays in the Athletes’ Village.
Thanks to the city’s central location on the American East Coast, teams from across the eastern seaboard and beyond travel to join local crews for a fun day of dragon boat festivities on and off the water. Many out-of-towners extend their stay to discover the attractions that made Richmond one of Frommers’ Top Destinations for 2014, such as the Civil War Trails, white water rafting, local craft breweries, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 17th Street Farmers’ Market, and the Edgar Allen Poe Museum.
Races take place on a 500m course with events for Mixed, Women’s, and Open teams. Local crews battle it out for the coveted Community Championship trophy.
