The Rotary Club of Kissimmee West purchased 40 insulated coolers for the Osceola Meals on Wheels program from a $5,000 donation from the Rotary Club.

Those coolers will be going out on Meals on Wheels runs to replace older coolers to keep cold foods fresh as they are delivered to MOW clients. Routes can take over an hour to complete.

Word from Wilda Belisle, the Osceola Council on Aging’s Vice President of Nutrition Services and the Meals on Wheels coordinator, the organization’s existing coolers were falling apart, to the point a few had to be thrown away recently.

“Since we are delivering Meals on Wheels and noticed how beat up the coolers looked, and that Wilda mentioned not having enough for the deliveries,” said Kathy Pierson of the Kissimmee West Rotary. “So, it was a good investment on our part.”

Additionally, the Rotary Club of Kissimmee West teamed with the  Osceola Council on Aging’s Homebound Heroes program this weekend on a paint project for Army Veteran Vinnie Manitto and his wife Marilyn of Kissimmee.
