Have you ever had a rough day at Disney that could have been prevented by an item you forgot to pack?
Being prepared when you head into the parks can make or break your trip. Here’s how you can pack the perfect park bag for under $50!
Trust us, you’ll feel a lot better knowing you’re covered, so you can rest easy and enjoy your time at Disney!
Sunscreen is a MUST when packing for the parks. It doesn’t matter what time of day or year, or whether it’s sunny, overcast, or raining — you need to wear sunscreen and protect your skin. You can apply your first layer while at your hotel or resort with a normal sized bottle, but make sure you’re bringing some with you to reapply throughout the day.
To save on space, opt for a travel sized bottle. This one by Alba Botanical is lightweight and provides broad spectrum protection. It’s also water resistant for up to 80 minutes, so if you’re planning on hopping on any water rides you don’t have to worry! We also love that Alba is plant based and cruelty free.
While we’re on the subject of the sun, it really can beat down when you’re in the parks! Keep yourself from overheating by carrying a cooling towel in your bag. All you have to do to activate it is wet it, wring it out, and place on your neck. It’s that simple!
We love using these because it’s super easy to activate, plus they are totally reusable and don’t require any batteries or chargers.
Staying hydrated is JUST as important as keeping cool. Disney is great about offering water stations around their parks for you to get cups of water for free. Keep up on your hydration by bringing your own water bottle, and just refill at the stations!
Again, it’s all about keeping things minimal and compact in your bag so you aren’t lugging around an extra 50 pounds. This water bottle by Special Made is completely collapsible so when you’re out and between refills, you can just squish it down and pop it into your bag!
We’ve said it once (probably more than once) and we will continue to say it again and again: you NEED a portable charger when going to Disney. Even if you want to be a traditionalist and refuse to use Genie+ or My Disney Experience, you will probably still use your phone for taking photos and videos, checking the weather, and a million other things you don’t even realize!
Avoid your phone dying right when you were about to capture your grandson’s first hug with Mickey by bringing a phone charger with you.
The weather at any Disney park can be unpredictable. Getting soaked can be a big pain, especially when you can do a little preparation to prevent it. Plus, who wants to get stuck inside because of a little rain?
Pack a disposable poncho or two so you can still enjoy your time at Disney. You’re also better off bringing your own instead of paying much higher prices at the parks for their ponchos. This listing comes with four ponchos for under $10, which we think is a great deal! Now you can go out and enjoy Disney on a rainy day, and they work extra hard to make it fun despite the gloomy weather!
Better safe than sorry is our motto! Keep a small first aid kit on hand when you head into the parks. Disney does have first aid stations, but you can save time (and sanity) by taking care of small accidents on your own.
The kit doesn’t need to be massive — you only need some bandages, alcohol pads, and gauze. This should cover most minor scrapes, and everything you need is in this mini travel first aid kit from Johnson & Johnson. You should also carry a small bottle of an over the counter pain reliever just in case anyone ends up with a bump or headache.
All of these items came out to a total of $47.54 — under budget! These items are a great base when it comes to making a park bag, but of course everyone’s packing list is going to vary when it comes to adding other necessities.
