Police Hunt For Driver Who Struck, Killed Man In Wheelchair

Recently, we've seen more than one story of vehicle versus pedestrian incidents. These are incidents where a driver, for one reason or another, hits someone. Often, these incidents have ended in tragedy.

Amarillo Police department released information today regarding an overnight incident that led to the death of a man in a wheelchair.

According to the press release, officers were dispatched shortly after midnight last night to a major accident on Frontage Road. It happened in the 3200 block of Frontage Road along I-40.

According to the release, officers arrived to find 65-year-old Gregory Moore deceased. He had been in his wheelchair in the outside lane of traffic.

The press release states that a westbound vehicle struck Moore. The driver left the scene.

The press release states that the driver has yet to be identified. The Traffic Investigation Unit of the Amarillo Police Department is currently investigating.
